Last season on Broadway, Peter designed American Son and Choir Boy, his 59th and 60th Broadway productions. His other main stem designs include Sweat, The Parisian Woman, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Waiting for Godot /No Man’s Land (with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart), Waiting for Godot (with Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin),Venus in Fur, Anything Goes, Grey Gardens, Contact, The Producers, Kiss Me, Kate, She Loves Me, Young Frankenstein and Steel Pier. Ten of Peter’s Broadway successes have transferred to London’s West End. He has extensive credits for Lincoln Center Theater, Manhattan Theater Club, Roundabout, The Public Theater (both downtown and at the Delacorte in Central Park), The New Group, Playwright’s Horizons and Encores! His regional credits include productions at the Guthrie, the Goodman, Seattle Rep, La Jolla Playhouse, the Old Globe, Long Wharf, Hartford Stage and the McCarter among many others. His opera work has been seen at the Metropolitan, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theater of St Louis, Los Angeles Music Center and Seattle Opera, as well as abroad at The Royal Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera/North, Edinburgh Festival, Maggio Florence, L’Arena di Verona, La Fenice, Bonn and Lisbon. Peter is the recipient of Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Dramalogue, Ovation and Hewes awards.
